Abstract:
The paper presents the results of a study assessing the risk of disasters occurring in Varna Province. The study was initiated during the implementation of Task 1.1.6 of the National Scientific Programme “Security and Defence” and aims to determine the scale of threats to critical infrastructure in the region in order to define monitoring parameters for early warning and reconnaissance of the consequences of various types of disasters affecting critical infrastructure elements. As a result of the qualitative and quantitative assessment, security risks were identified for scenarios involving predefined disasters. The results were used in the subsequent analysis conducted within the research task of the scientific programme.
